Administrative Core
The Administrative (Admin) Core provides scientific direction and leadership for CIRA, serves as its central administrative and coordinating body, and ensures appropriate fiscal management of the Center. The Core is also responsible for researchers from underrepresented race/ethnic groups, and strategic planning and evaluation. In addition, the Admin Core conducts a number of activities to ensure that information about CIRA and its science is disseminated widely, and to highlight ongoing activities and opportunities in HIV prevention, at the University, statewide, nationally and internationally. A weekly email bulletin details Center, University, and local events likely to be of interest to the CIRA community, and also provides information on conferences, and funding and job opportunities. In addition, the Core organizes several public events, including AIDS Science Day, an annual event that highlights HIV/AIDS research being conducted at Yale, The Institute for Community Research and the Center for Health Intervention and Prevention.
