Brief Bio:
Kristin duBay Horton, graduated from Yale University in 1991 with a degree in African American Studies and Modern Cultural Anthropology. She completed her education at Boston University earning a Master's Degree in Public Health in 1993 and serving as the graduation speaker for her class. From there, Ms duBay Horton went on to work for the Massachusetts Dept. of Public Health where she focused on Program Evaluation and Community Planning for the AIDS Bureau. In this role she oversaw community based evaluation and planning efforts that were diverse and far reaching including an assessment of risky behaviors among young men who have sex with men, an analysis of the effectiveness of Counseling and Testing as an intervention among repeat testers, and facilitating the first Conference on African American Women and HIV - the Women of Color AIDS Council Summit in 1995.

After marrying in 1998, Ms. duBay Horton moved to California where she served as a consultant for San Francisco-based Harder and Company and Boston-based John Snow Inc. This move into consulting allowed her the flexibility she sought as she began a family. After returning to CT in 2000, Ms. duBay Horton pursued independent consulting work and met other women doing the same thing. The group formed a collaborative (duBay Horton Associates LLC) in 2001. Currently Ms. duBay Horton oversees a staff of ten diverse professionals and interns - and oversees up to 25 projects at a time. With projects as diverse as the effect of Brownfield's on Health and Well-being in communities, to programs to decrease growing rates of underage drinking - the work is ever-changing. dHA's motto is Bridging Theory and Practice which encompasses her goal to provide cutting edge consulting services to communities in need - taking best practices to the grassroots level.

Ms. duBay Horton is now a mother of three girls, who also serves on the Board of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS at Yale, and volunteers consulting support to local efforts.
