Daniel Zelterman


Brief Bio:
Dr. Zelterman is also the co-director of the Biostatistics Core of the Yale Comprehensive Cancer Center. Before coming to Yale in 1995, he was Associate Professor of Biostatistics at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and before that he was Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Statistics at the State University of New York at Albany. At Yale he also serves on the Human Investigations Committee (Yale's IRB) in which he reviews protocols involving human subjects. At CIRA he is most closely associated with the work of Drs. Heimer, Grau, and Abdala.

He is the Associate Editor of six journals including Biometrics. His research interests are centered in statistical methodology developments for categorical and survival data. In addition to over 100 published articles, he has also recently published four books including Discrete Distributions: Applications in the Health Sciences (J. Wiley, 2004) and Models for Discrete Data, 2nd edition, (Oxford University Press, 2006).In 1998 he was elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association (ASA). In 2002 he organized the New England Statistical Society annual meeting, hosted by Yale.
