Development Core
Given the wide scope and complex and changing nature of the HIV/AIDS pandemic, it is critical to ensure ample opportunities for developing new and innovative research, and to encourage new scientists at all levels and from diverse backgrounds and fields to undertake this research, while supporting them in their efforts to do so. The specific aims of CIRA's Development (Dev) Core are to:
- Promote and support new science consistent with CIRA's mission and encourage new investigators, particularly those from underrepresented racial and ethnic backgrounds, to undertake HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment research;
- Provide support for CIRA's training activities, both domestic and international;
- Ensure that CIRA science is of the highest quality by maintaining a rigorous Peer Review program.
