Career Development Consultations
To further strengthen mentoring activities, CIRA's Development Core offers quarterly Career Development Consultations to junior faculty and post-doctoral fellows and associates. Our consults provide an invaluable opportunity to receive tailored career advice from senior faculty at Yale, focusing on everything from the development of K awards to the right approach to getting published, and all set in an informal and confidential setting.
Following her recent consult, current CIRA Fellow Dr. Amy Carroll-Scott stressed the value in being able to sit down with such a gathering of senior faculty. "I found the career consult incredibly valuable and useful for focusing my work over the next year. When else do you have a chance to have a room full of faculty (and a Dean!) providing such candid advice and helpful feedback focused directly on your career goals? I would love to be able to participate again once I am a bit further along in my career path, when more guidance would be constructive for preparing for future opportunities."
To take advantage of our Career Development Consultations please contact Jon Atherton (jon.atherton@yale.edu or 203-764-4338).
