Harm Reduction Hero To Open CIRA's 2009 YACS@CIRA Series
CIRA's 2009-2010 Yale AIDS Colloquium Series (YACS) will kick off on September 24 as Daliah Heller, M.P.H. visits Yale. For the past thirteen years, Ms. Heller has worked in the area of substance use and community health in New York City.
This talk will describe her experiences as a community-based provider and policy advocate, and explore how this perspective has shaped her subsequent work in government. By comparing and contrasting her work in each of these roles - as a service provider, a policy advocate, and a manager - the talk will articulate the evident differences and the striking similarities between these perspectives.
