This notice announces that new, restructured versions of the paper PHS 398 and electronic SF 424 (R&R) application packages and instructions will be available by December 2009. Applicants must download and use the new application packages for submissions targeting due dates on or after January 25, 2010 (funding for fiscal year (FY) 2011 and beyond). • all applications using the paper PHS 398 application package.
  2. NIH Public Access Update: Clarifying Use of the NIH Manuscript Submission ID (NIHMSID)

The NIHMSID may be used to demonstrate compliance on NIH applications, proposals or reports, for up to three months after a paper is published. Three or more months after publication, a PubMed Central ID (PMCID) must be provided. Only the PMCID signifies that all steps of the NIH Public Access submission process are complete and that the paper is ready for posting at PubMed Central.
