COMMUNITY

Community-Based Research (CBR) Workshops

To ensure that CIRA's research collaborations are built upon strong theoretical models and principles, the CR Core will sponsor a series of day-long workshops, first to develop local applications of models for conducting CBR and then to sensitize CIRA investigators and other researchers to their use. Participants will include CR Core members, additional CIRA investigators, and community representatives (i.e. leaders of CBOs, ASOs, or health clinics, and public health officials). Outside experts from around the region will be invited to discuss models they have developed, their applications, and the situations in which they have been most successful, as well as the different barriers to CBR they have faced and how they have overcome them.
