Ourselves, Our Bodies, Our Relatives: An HIV Prevention Intervention for Women With Severe Mental Illness (.pdf at Journal of Urban Health articles)
Pamela Y. Collins, Pamela A. Geller, Sutherland Miller, Patricia Toro, and Ezra S. Susser. Journal of Urban Health: Bulletin of the New York Academy of Medicine, 78(1):162-175, 2001.
This study introduces an innovative model - a talk show!- for a behavioral intervention addressing HIV prevention for a group of women with severe psychiatric illness. It demonstrates the effectiveness of a prevention program that includes correct usage of a female condom. While this "talk show" intervention is designed and evaluated for women with mental health concerns, the model may be applicable to other populations within the disability community.

Me HIV+... What Do? A Guide for Deaf People Living with HIV Disease
(English)

Produced by the AIDS services of Austin, Texas, this guide is aimed at deaf individuals living with HIV. It includes sections on taking care of your health after being infected, and medication, as well as women's health and how to deal with your emotions after being diagnosed. Several sections such as insurance and social support services will be more relevant to individuals in developed countries. However, overall a good straightforward source of information that can be used in both developing and developed countries.

Where Women Have No Doctor: A Health Guide for Women

(English)

Chapters 9 and 17 of this book address women with disabilities and AIDS respectively. Although this book does not address women with HIV specifically, we feel this is an excellent resource with universal appeal, given the simple language and illustrations.
