FOR OUR AFFILIATES

INTERNATIONAL
Where is this Woman? The caption on this billboard in South Africa roughly translates to -- "Where is this woman? She was taken by AIDS". The message encapsulates the huge and growing toll that the virus has taken, especially on black South African women. Created by the Foundation for Community Development for a PATH/USAID project, this billboard is one of many attempts to generate HIV/AIDS awareness in South Africa.

Currently, CIRA has 4 active and 6 completed projects in South Africa.

Training Related Research

Successful preparation and conduct of a Mentored Trainee Research Project (MTRP) is an important aspect of CIRA's international training programs.
CIRA's Office of International Training (OIT) houses all CIRA-affiliated international training programs and some CIRA-affiliated international research projects. OIT's mission is to provide each international trainee with a coherent, individualized program that prepares the trainee to conduct high-quality HIV prevention research in his or her home country.

Training Programs

CIRA's international training programs provide a variety of short-, medium- and long-term training opportunities for participants within the context of ongoing research collaborations.
