Career Development Consultations
To further strengthen mentoring activities, CIRA's Development Core offers quarterly Career Development Consultations to junior faculty and postdoctoral fellows and associates. The person receiving the consultation is asked to present his or her current career situation and identify specific issues for discussion. Core members then make suggestions about research and career directions, with special emphasis on mentoring for development of K awards or other types of career development awards. These sessions are, however, tailored to suit the requirements of individual scientists. They offer consultees an opportunity to garner valuable career information in an informal and confidential setting.
