  • Connecticut HIV Prevention Community Planning Group - The mission of the Community Planning Group is to analyze the statewide HIV/AIDS epidemic and to assess, advocate, and prioritize HIV prevention needs.
  • CTCARE ALLIANCE - The CTCARE Alliance is a partnership of nonprofit support service providers linked through a technology-based care management system. Its overall goals are to reduce barriers to service access and to enhance the quality of collaborative care for consumers in Connecticut.
  • Liberty Community Services - Supportive housing and services for our neighbors in need.
  • Ryan White Title I Planning Council - This site provides information about the Ryan White CARE Act, the New Haven and Fairfield Counties Planning Council, and local services available for people with HIV/AIDS.

  • HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) Web Site - Key information on the Ryan White CARE Act, which funds primary care and support services for medically underserved people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS.
  • Publications & Information Materials - Resources designed to help funding recipients and others effectively manage and grow service providing agencies.

General and Sexual Health Resources

  • Drug Information Clearinghouse - DrugInfo collects, interprets, and disseminates information on drug prevention. The site contains reseach summaries, evaluation reports, and resource lists, which can be searched for information about HIV/AIDS-related drug use.
  • Gay Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender Health Webpages - From Public Health - Seattle & King County, WA, designed to discuss the particular health concerns of the GLBT community and to provide tools to health care providers to ensure that health care environments are welcoming.
  • healthfinder® - A gateway to reliable consumer health and human services information developed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on a variety of health issues, including HIV/AIDS.
  • Kaiser Network - This site is devoted to health policy, and has an HIV/AIDS sub-section.
  • National Cervical Cancer Public Education Campaign - Designed to provide women with information about the link between HPV and cervical cancer, the second most common malignancy found in women, and about existing and new methods to detect the disease.
  • New Haven Health - A site devoted to the public health of the greater New Haven area, created by the Cushing/Whitney Medical Library and the Epidemiology and Public Health Library at Yale University.

  • CTYouthHIV.com - "HIV and U the Real Deal". A site created by the Connecticut Primary Care Association for Connecticut Youth about HIV.
  • What to do - HIV/AIDS facts, options, and Action. The goal of whatudo.org is to provide straightforward, unbiased, nonjudgmental, accurate, and timely information about HIV/AIDS to young people who are searching for answers on the Web.
  • www.iwannaknow.org - Web site for teens on questions about sexual health and STD prevention. Operated by the American Social Health Association.

  • Center for AIDS Intervention Research (CAIR) - A multidisciplinary HIV prevention research center based at the Medical College of Wisconsin
  • Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS) - The mission of the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies (CAPS) is to conduct domestic and international research to prevent the acquisition of HIV and to optimize health outcomes among HIV-infected individuals. It is located at the AIDS Research Institute, University of California, San Francisco.
  • Center for HIV Identification, Prevention and Treatment Services (CHIPTS) - CHIPTS is a collaboration of researchers from UCLA, Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science, Friends Research Institute, and RAND working with the broader Los Angeles community toward a common goal: to enhance our collective understanding of HIV research and to promote early detection, effective prevention, and treatment programs for HIV.
  • Center for HIV Intervention and Prevention (CHIP) - A research center dedicated to the study of the dynamics of health risk behavior and processes of health behavioral change in individuals and targeted at-risk populations. It is based at the University of Connecticut.
  • Harvard School of Public Health AIDS Initiative - Dedicated to promoting research, education and leadership to end the AIDS epidemic in Africa, Asia, and other resource-scarce settings.
  • HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies - The HIV Center for Clinical and Behavioral Studies is an interdisciplinary research center that investigates the behavioral causes and consequences of HIV/AIDS. It is headquartered at the New York State Psychiatric Institute and Columbia University.
  • The HIVTools Research Group - A multidisciplinary academic research group doing HIV/AIDS related research in resource-poor settings.

  • Association of American Colleges and Universities' Program For Health and Higher Education Launches National Leadership Resource Database - Information on courses that integrate HIV/AIDS and other health concerns now available on the World Wide Web.
  • Family Health International - Many books and reports published by FHI are available on this Web site as full-text documents.
  • GlobalHealthReporting.org - A project operated by the Kaiser Family Foundation providing journalists and others with the latest information on HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis.
  • Health and Development Network - The mission of HDN is to mobilize a more effective response to HIV/AIDS and other health-and-development-related issues by improving information, communication and the quality of debate.
  • HIV InSite - Developed by the Center for HIV Information (CHI) at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), HIV InSite's mission is to be a source for comprehensive, in-depth HIV/AIDS information and knowledge. The site has an extensive collection of original material, including the HIV InSite Knowledge Base, a complete textbook with extensive references and related links organized by topic.
  • HIV/AIDS Jobs Bank - (NMAC) A national listing of HIV/AIDS related employment opportunities that includes a summary and narrative of postings submitted by grassroots, government and private sector agencies, sorted geographically and offered free-of-charge.
  • HIV/AIDS Anti-Stigma Initiative - (NMAC) Since the beginning of the HIV/AIDS epidemic over 20 years ago, stigma has been a barrier to HIV prevention and care. The HIV/AIDS Anti-Stigma Initiative, funded by the Ford Foundation, is examining what is known about HIV/AIDS-related stigma through targeted anti-stigma programs implemented by five community-based organizations in the United States.
  • Know HIV/AIDS - Viacom and the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation have created a media campaign to eradicate ignorance about HIV/AIDS. The multi-year initiative encompasses the creation and dissemination of information about the HIV virus and its prevention through television, radio, outdoor, online and print media. The mission: To use the power of media to educate and compel people to act-to protect themselves and to get tested for the virus-and to erase the stigma for those afflicted.
  • National Minority AIDS Council - (NMAC), a national organization dedicated to developing leadership within communities of color to address the challenge of HIV/AIDS.
  • New Haven HIV Consumer Council - "The mission of the Greater New Haven HIV Consumer Council is to educate and increase understanding and awareness of who we are and to clarify HIV consumer issues.
  • Surviving AIDS - A Web site companion to the NOVA TV series originally broadcast on February 2, 1999 (WGBH/PBS, 1999).
  • The Body - An extensive and in-depth "AIDS and HIV information resource" for those infected or affected by HIV.
  • The Globalization and Health list - A discussion group, an information source, and an organizing tool for people concerned about the impact of economic globalization on health. The group's members came together at the American Public Health Association (APHA) conference in the fall of 2001.
  • UNAIDS 2006 Report on the Global AIDS Epidemic
    Every two years, on the occasion of the International Conference on AIDS, this Global Report sets out our current knowledge on the state of the epidemic based on the experiences of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), which comprises nine United Nations system agencies. It makes for sobering reading.
  • XVI International AIDS Conference 2006 - Official Webcasts offer the possibility of hearing and seeing the congress sessions via the internet as the original audience did.
